Mobility disorders in elderly and inverse solution analysis methods.

Physical Performance tests have proven to be an effective tool for the identification of elderly people susceptible to disability. Longitudinal variations in the mobility of older adults are predictors of adverse outcomes. An important relationship has been demonstrated between brain alterations and physical performance disorders associated with aging. The Electroencephalogram (EEG) has shown its usefulness in the diagnosis of cortical alterations associated with aging, the deterioration of the gait speed has been related to the abnormal increase in brain activity. The inverse solutions analysis methods that allow estimating the sources of brain activity increase the energy of abnormal theta activity in older adults with impaired walking speed.
