The first edition of the Winter School on “Neurotechnology applications on aging-related disorders”, was held in Havana, Cuba, from Nov. 26th to Dec 7th, 2018. This school was part of the International School of Neurotechnology, hosted by the Cuban Neuroscience Center (CNEURO) and created as part of the VLIR project between Ghent University, Université libre de Bruxelles and CNEURO.
It gathered around 30 lecturers from nine countries and students from five nationalities. The topic of the school was Neurotechnology and development of Methods of Analysis for applications on the study of neurodegenerative diseases and other aging related disorders.
The program of the school consisted on a first week of lectures and practical sessions on the methods of analysis of neuroscience data and the use of different neuroinformatic and neurotechnology tools; and a second week with lectures on the applications to the study of aging-disorders from the cognitive and clinical neurosciences point of view. It was also performed a tutorial session where the students presented their researchers/works for discussions and debating.
